On Monday, April 8, Vice-Speaker of the Polish Sejm Marek Kuchcinski met in the Sejm with a Czech delegation headed by Senate President Milan Steche, who was on a two-day official visit.
May 2, 2013 will mark the twelfth edition of the World Day of Poles and Polish Communities Abroad. This year, the celebrations will be held in the Czech Republic, in Zaolzie. In previous years, the day was celebrated in Ukraine, Greece and Russia, among others.
The holiday was established on the initiative of the Senate "in recognition of the centuries-long contribution of the Polish community to Poland's independence; for loyalty and devotion to Polishness and assistance to the country in its most difficult moments, in order to confirm the bond with the Motherland and the unity of all Poles."
