This year, the Parliament passed a law on Rural Housewives' Circles, which includes very specific - financial and administrative - tools to support this activity. First of all, there is real financial support - from 3 to 5 thousand zlotys for the start, but also tax reliefs, free legal services, formal facilitations. And full freedom of choice - either business as usual or under new, easier rules.
To raise the standard of living of rural residents, the Law and Justice government also introduced:
- program 500 plus, i.e. support greater than direct payments
- protection Polish land against speculative purchase
- increased support in disaster situations
- higher agricultural fuel payments
- possibility of direct sale of agricultural products
- restoring post offices and commissariats
- fund local roads
- restoring bus services
- support for Voluntary Fire Brigades
- support development of folk culture
In planning:
- equalisation EU subsidies
- change the distribution of RDP funds for family farms
- increase support for "green agriculture" and healthy food production
- support natural breeding (cow plus, etc.)
- stabilisation of prices of agricultural products
- law for the protection of family farms
- creation of State Food Holding buying agricultural products at fair prices
- strengthening action against price collusion
- support for the maintenance of small rural schools and cultural institutions
The May elections to the European Parliament gave PiS an unquestionable advantage in the countryside (56 percent to KO's 27 percent), which may indicate great trust in Jaroslaw Kaczynski's party and satisfaction with the implemented programs. The August survey of voter preferences clearly shows that the countryside needs good change.
