Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchcinski met today with Vice Chairman of the Chinese Consultative Conference Wang Jiarui
The starting point for the talks was a statement signed by the presidents of Poland and China in Warsaw in June, which states that "Poland and China view each other as long-term and stable strategic partners." Marshal Kuchcinski agrees with its contents. During the meeting, he argued that despite political differences, cooperation between Europe and China is extremely important and leads to the development of the global economy and world order. He also encouraged intercession for the organization of the EXPO 2022 International Exhibition in Łódź. He also stressed the strategic importance of the Belt and Road Initiative and Poland's unique place in this project, enabling the exchange of goods, technology, capital and personnel, promoting coordinated development and joint progress of the signatory countries in the economic, social, environmental and cultural fields.
Poland is an important partner for China because of its location. Its great assets are sea ports like Gdansk, but also intersecting transport routes. Our cooperation should be developed not only on the level of economy, culture, art or communication, but also on the level of safety. According to the Marshal, cooperation on the parliamentary level is becoming more and more important. Poland and China should strengthen it and intensify bilateral contacts.
