A bill adopted by the Council of Ministers on supplementary benefit for persons incapable of independent existence has been sent for the first reading at the next session of the Parliament. Thanks to the bill, people with disabilities will get a permanent allowance of PLN 500. The government plans to pay out from October 1, 2019.
- We meet the expectations of people with disabilities and their families. We remember those who need support and who were neglected by previous governments. Law and Justice party promised to adopt good, comprehensive regulations, resulting from care for people who cannot manage on their own, and we keep our promise - says Marek Kuchciński, Speaker of the Sejm.
The purpose of the proposed act is to provide additional financial support to people who are unable to lead an independent life and who, due to their functional limitations resulting from a significant impairment of organism's efficiency, incur higher costs of functioning in everyday and social life. The main purpose of the proposed regulation is to provide additional means for satisfying life needs of persons unable to lead an independent existence due to increased costs of care, rehabilitation and medical care.
The supplemental benefit will be available to individuals who:
- 18 years of age or older,
- are incapable of living on their own and the incapacity has been established by an appropriate certificate,
we care, we remember about people who need support, forgotten, neglected by previous governments - receive benefits in an amount not exceeding the lowest total disability benefit, i.e., PLN 1,100.
