Speaker of the Sejm: The fundamental goal is to strengthen the Union through its renewal

Security, economic cooperation, joint infrastructure initiatives, strengthening of the role of national parliaments - these are the main topics of the meeting of the Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński with the Speaker of the State Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia Milan Brglez.

Milan Brglez pointed out that the time for resuming parliamentary cooperation was special - 25 years ago Poland recognised Slovenia's independence. He stressed that the strength of the EU lies in the power of finding a common language and uniting.

The Speaker of the Sejm emphasized that the fundamental goal is to strengthen the Union through its renewal. - A turnout of less than 20% during the EP elections shows a lack of trust in EU institutions and a recognition of paradoxes such as imposing cucumber lengths on Polish farmers or interference in internal state affairs," Kuchciński argued. - Brexit or multi-speed Europe weaken the European Union," he added.

The Speaker of the Sejm also emphasized the increasing role of national parliaments. He sees decentralization as a solution to the growing reluctance towards Brussels structures. He stressed that a Europe of solidary states should be a Europe of sovereign states. - The word solidarity is as important to us as independence," Kuchciński said.

Politicians also raised the issue of regional cooperation in the Tri-City area and infrastructure programs, such as the Amber Road and the Baltic-Adriatic connection.
