Over PLN 66 million for the Podkarpacie region as part of the government support for mountain municipalities

The Government Fund for Local Investments means support for more than 200 mountain municipalities from 6 provinces. More than PLN 66 million for the Podkarpacie region. We change the face of Poland, we support the sustainable development of each region, we equalise opportunities, and eliminate developmental differences.

The fund is also our response to the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. We take all entrepreneurs and all industries, including the tourism industry, very seriously. This is a concrete response to the situation of mountain municipalities related to Covid-19 and yet another form of support that we have prepared to counteract the negative effects of the pandemic. We believe that this PLN 1 billion will improve the situation in municipalities particularly affected by the restrictions. Under RFIL, we will pay a total of PLN 13.25 billion to local government units.

Apart from Podkarpackie Voivodeship, the following provinces will benefit from the Fund: Dolnośląskie, Śląskie, Świętokrzyskie, Małopolskie and Opolskie.

I instrument - investment support: the basis for calculating the amount of support will be the expenses that a given municipality has incurred for investments in 2016-2020. The program's funding will amount to 40% of the average annual value of investment expenses in 2016-2020, but no more than PLN 8 million per municipality.

II instrument - 80 percent compensation for business property tax exemptions.

Money from both instruments can be used to finance or co-finance publicly accessible tourist infrastructure, as well as municipal infrastructure related to tourist services, in particular construction, expansion, reconstruction or modernization:

  • hiking, biking, horseback riding, water, skiing, and winter tourism trails, as well as their signage;
  • squares, promenades, parks, viewpoints;
  • parking lots, recreational equipment rentals;
  • open-air museums, regional cultural sites and other tourist attractions;
  • municipal infrastructure necessary for the development of tourism services, e.g. roads, sidewalks, sewage treatment plants, etc.

To date, we have already allocated 200 billion. In doing so, we have saved many businesses from collapse and millions of people from unemployment. We are thinking about the future and building a foundation for dynamic economic growth in the post-Coronavirus pandemic era.

Thanks to the Governmental Fund for Local Investment in very many poorer localities can form investments for which there were no funds before.

The program is also support for thousands of companies and hundreds of thousands of employeeswhich carry out investment tasks for local governments. This is another injection of funds, which allows not only to maintain jobs, but also enables the development of enterprises.

Our predecessors looked at the development of Poland from the perspective of Warsaw and other large cities. From their cabinets they did not see the problems of underdeveloped areas of our country.
