As written in 1939, the union was formed:
- for the greater glory of the Republic of Poland, which is rising to the heights of power through the joint efforts of all citizens
- in order to refer to the magnificent nine-century history of the Nation, which has written its greatness on the pages of history with its weapons
- for the renewal of splendor of the Polish borderland knighthood, which faithfully guarded the borderlands of Poland by the sword and plough
- In order to relate the noble traditions of chivalry to the duties of citizens towards the resurrected Polish State, the Union of Homestead Nobility is created.
His tasks were to take care of the Polish minor gentry in the borderlands, who had not yet lost their Polish nationality, and to repolonize those who had already lost it.
The first rural circles began to be organized in 1935, and in 1936 a Committee for Homestead Nobility was formed, which led to a convention in Lviv the following year.
On October 17, 1937 the Congress of the Homestead Nobility took place in Lviv. In the Grand Theater gathered about four thousand delegates of nobility circles. It was decided to create the Union of the Zagrodowa Nobility, a commission was appointed to develop a statute and a program of activity.
Formally The union was established on 13 February 1938 at the General Convention of the Homestead Nobility in Przemyśl. The Convention was attended by the supporters of the Association: Brigadier General Janusz Głuchowski (Deputy Minister of Military Affairs), Brigadier General Wacław Scaevola-Wieczorkiewicz (Commander of the 10th Corps District in Przemyśl) as well as Stanisławów Voivode Stefan Pasławski and Lwów Voivode Chmielewski.
The statute was approved by the governor of Lviv. The Supreme Council and the Main Board with the seat in Przemysl were created. Father Dean Antoni Miodoński, chaplain of the 5th Regiment of Highland Rifles, was elected president of the Association. On June 24, 1938 Marshal Edward Smigly-Rydz became the protector of the Zagrodowa Nobility Association.
