PLN 77 million will go to local governments of the Podkarpacie region. In Rzeszów, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, Jarosław Zieliński, handed out promissory notes for the implementation of tasks related to removing the effects of natural disasters and landslide movements.
- The Podkarpackie Province receives almost PLN 77 million, including PLN 56 million for reconstruction of roads, culverts, bridges and over PLN 20 million for stabilization of landslides - said Jarosław Zieliński, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Interior and Administration, during a ceremony at the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Office in Rzeszów. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the state's support of local governments' activities is extremely important in terms of improving the quality of life of the inhabitants. He also thanked starosts, mayors and village heads for the efficient preparation of the applications. Podkarpackie voivode Ewa Leniart added that thanks to the promises that have been awarded in recent years Podkarpackie has managed to repair over 673 km of municipal and district roads and 218 culverts and bridge structures.
During the ceremony promises were received by representatives of 58 local government units, including 46 gminas and 12 powiats. The funding will be allocated for the implementation of 183 tasks.
The event was attended by Subcarpathian MPs Krystyna Wróblewska, Halina Szydełko, Bogdan Rzońca, Zbigniew Chmielowiec and Andrzej Szlachta, Subcarpathian Deputy Marshal Piotr Pilch and representatives of Subcarpathian communes and districts.
A letter to the participants was addressed by the Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński, who expressed his conviction that thanks to the grants awarded, the infrastructure damaged by natural disasters will be rebuilt and restored. "I trust that these activities will serve the local community well," wrote the Speaker.
The allocated funds, coming from the specific reserve of the state budget, will be used for:
- Subsidy for the implementation of tasks related to repair and reconstruction of infrastructure damaged as a result of events bearing the hallmarks of a natural disaster.
Promissory notes were awarded to 43 local government units (including 5 powiats and 38 gminas) for the amount of over PLN 56 million. With the above funds, the units plan, among other things, to rebuild, renovate over 97 km roads and 25 bridges and culverts.
2. co-financing of own tasks consisting in reconstruction of public infrastructure destroyed by landslide movements.
Promissory notes were awarded to 17 local government units (including 8 powiats and 9 gminas) for the amount of over PLN 20.5 million. The funds will allow for financing of all the tasks submitted by local governments for implementation this year, i.e. to be implemented this year, i.e. 14 documentation and execution 12 appropriate safety worklandslides.
Total in years 2016-2018 The Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, at the request of the Podkarpackie Governor, has provided local government units with targeted subsidies from the state budget for removing the effects of natural disasters and landslide movements in the total amount of over 270PLN million for the implementation of 970 tasks.
Under these measures, in particular:
- renovated, rebuilt, or reconstructed:
- over 673 km municipal and county roads,
- 218 culverts and bridge structures on municipal and county roads,
- The study was financed 55 geological and engineering documentation and construction designs,
- Funded by 29 appropriate works to protect landslide-prone areas.
