Solidarity Shield: protection for all Poles, support for companies and entrepreneurs

The war in Ukraine has caused 3 major crises: energy, economic and security. The Solidarity Shield will protect Poles from steep, three- to fourfold price increases. Such price increases are already faced by citizens of allof all European Union countries.

The Polish state operates in two basic areas:

1. protection of families, citizens, all Poles

2. protection and support for companies and entrepreneurs

Fixed price at current level up to 2,000 kWh of annual consumption. About 8 million households will not feel the price increase at all!

Families with many children (with the Large Family Card), the disabled and farmers will pay for energy at the current price for consumption of up to 2,600 kWh per year. A rebate will be available for additional reductions in energy consumption by families. Reducing consumption by more than 10% compared to this year will reduce energy costs by 10%. Families will get an additional shield - The energy allowance will amount to PLN1,000. Government and local administrations will be required to reduce energy consumption by min. 10 percent.Every public institution will have to optimize electricity consumption and reduce costs. The government will release additional funds for local investment in energy-efficient street lighting to help local governments reduce energy expenses.

SHIELD FOR COMPANIES AND GREEN ENERGY FOR INDUSTRY (OZE)

Companies in industries such as metallurgy, ceramics, glass and fertilizer production will be covered by the shield for energy-intensive companies. It will help them reduce the deficit caused by Russia's energy blackmail. We will allocate PLN 5 billion in energy and gas purchase subsidies for industries with above-standard energy costs. In 2023, it will be possible for large industrial companies to build a connection of green generation sources to the installations of internal energy consumers. Large consumers will be able to build new RES installations themselves and use them for their own needs. This will give them cheaper energy, lower costs for their production and the ability to offer lower prices. The state is setting an example. In 2022, no bonuses will be paid at state and local government companies. EVENTUALLY: The Polish government is taking a number of measures to support Polish entrepreneurs during the global crisis. The Solidarity Shield is a solution-incentive - it rewards those who save. Households are given a guaranteed energy price of up to 2,000 kWh per year. For households with disabled people, families with three or more children, and households with agricultural activities, it will be 2,600 kWh. This means that households will pay a higher price for electricity only for the excess - above 2,000 or 2,600 kWh. In addition, there is no bureaucracy on the part of citizens, or it will be kept to a minimum. It is the energy supplier that will assess consumption and automatically reduce the price. In the case of farmers - all that is needed is a certificate from the tax office about the payment of agricultural taxes. For families with three or more children, only the Large Family Card will be needed, and where there is a person with a disability - one supporting document. Over the course of seven years, the Polish government has consistently fulfilled its earlier commitments to increase the use of renewable energy sources and accelerate the transformation of the country's energy sector. The last two years in particular have seen significant changes in Poland's energy market and an increasing share of energy from renewable sources. With each passing year, we are achieving goals that not long ago were unrealistic and even considered by some to be impossible to achieve - such as reaching the 15 percent renewable energy target for 2020. According to the Central Statistical Office, the share of renewable energy sources in gross final energy consumption was 16.1 percent. At the same time, we are carrying out activities leading to the construction of a nuclear power plant in Poland, which is a strategic investment for the sustainable development of the entire country. Nuclear power is a stable source of electricity, and the ability to store nuclear fuel for a long time improves the country's energy independence.
