"Together we can do more". The President of Lithuania paid a visit to the Seimas

On Tuesday, 16 July, the Speaker of the Seimas Marek Kuchciński held talks with the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, who arrived in Poland for his first official visit abroad after taking office. The meeting was also attended by Grzegorz Janik, MP, Deputy Chairman of the Polish-Lithuanian Parliamentary Group, and Agnieszka Kaczmarska, Head of the Chancellery of the Sejm.

Welcoming the President of Lithuania, the Speaker of the Seimas congratulated him on his election victory and noted that Warsaw and Vilnius have ambitious plans to strengthen their cooperation in the coming years.

One of the main topics of the meeting was cooperation between the two countries at the parliamentary level. The politicians also discussed the cooperation within the European Union, referring to the new budget perspective. Among the discussed issues were also regional infrastructure and strengthening transport ties between Poland and Lithuania. In this context Marek Kuchciński and Gitanas Nausėda discussed Via Carpatia, Rail Baltica and Via Baltica projects.

The Speaker of the Seimas and the President of Lithuania also discussed economic, security and defense cooperation. The 450th anniversary of the Union of Lublin, which is being celebrated this year, was also mentioned. - We hope that our cooperation will develop more and more dynamically for the benefit of Lithuania, Poland and the whole Europe - emphasized the Speaker of the Seimas.
