Meeting of committees of the Parliamentary Assembly of Poland and Ukraine in Yaremcze

Deputy Speaker of the Polish Sejm Marek Kuchcinski will participate on July 7-8 in a meeting of a committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of Poland and Ukraine.

Among other things, the program will include:

Placing flowers at the Monuments of the Eaglets and Sich Sharpshooters, visiting the General Kosulat of the Republic of Poland, participating in the unveiling of the memorial plaque to Jacek Kuroń, and placing flowers at the site dedicated to the memory of 300 members of the Polish intelligentsia of Stanislawow who were executed by the Germans in August 1941.

During the committee meeting, Polish and Ukrainian parliamentarians will consider the following topics:

Economy block:

Hydroelectric power plants on mountain rivers (Polish and Ukrainian experience).

Development of border regions; cross-border cooperation.

Carpathian Euroregion.

Ecological block:

Preventing storm damage to forests.

Social block:

Presentation of projects of the "Polish-Ukrainian Academic Youth Meeting Center" under the patronage of the President of Poland and the President of Ukraine:

1) Project status presentation renovation of the former UW astronomical observatory on Pop Ivan Mountain.

2) Project presentation "Polish-Ukrainian Academic Youth Meeting House" in Mikuliczyn.

At the end of the visit, the MPs will go to the village of Bystrec - to the house of Stanislaw Vincenz and they will get acquainted with project presentation the Stanislaw Vincenz Field Research House, and ascend Pop Ivan Mountain (2028 m, Black Mountain Range), where they will see the ruins of a pre-war UW observatory.
