We have selected the winners of the comic book contest "Legends of Podkarpacie". The results were announced by Marek Kuchciński, Speaker of the Sejm of the 8th term of office, and Justyna Orłowska, the Prime Minister's Plenipotentiary for GovTech.
The "Legends of the Podkarpacie Region" competition is part of the Digital Europe of the Carpathians initiative implemented by the Chancellery of the Sejm together with the GovTech Centre at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The aim of the competition is to develop digital competencies among young people, to interest them in gaining qualifications in computer graphics and to promote the culture of the Podkarpacie region.
The competition in numbers
The competition task was to create by students of secondary schools a comic book using digital techniques (computer graphics) presenting a legend associated with the Podkarpackie region.
The following were submitted in the competition 150 works! Most comics were submitted by high school students from Przemysl, Debica, Wielun and Bydgoszcz. Among the most active schools was Juliusz Slowacki High School No. I in Przemysl, which received as many as 56 entries!
Selecting the best works was not an easy task. The level of competition was very high, and each comic was unique, creative and carefully made. During the meeting of the Competition Committee the five best authors were chosen.
Meet the winners!
1 place and a prize worth PLN 7000 receives Alicja Filiacz for a paper entitled. "Legend from the Green Land".
2nd place i award 6000 PLN receives Nel Kowalska for a paper entitled. "Bies and Chads"
3rd place i award 5000 PLN receives Marta Kos for a paper entitled. "Goddess of the Forest".
Distinguished awards worth PLN 2000 receive:
- Natalia Kowalczyk for a comic book titled "The Legend of the Virgin Mountain Orthodox Church"
- Konrad Kaczmarski for a paper entitled. "Srogs"
