Today the Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński met with the President of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, who is on an official visit to Poland. The politicians discussed, among other things, prospects for further strengthening of dynamically developing relations between the two countries, as well as cooperation in the European Union and NATO.

The interlocutors also emphasized the significance and potential of regional cooperation of the countries lying between the Baltic Sea, the Adriatic Sea and the Black Sea. The Speaker of the Sejm thanked the President of Croatia for organizing the meeting of the leaders of the countries of the "Intra-Macroregion" which took place on the occasion of the last session of the UN General Assembly. According to the Speaker of the Sejm, all activities strengthening the subjectivity of this region, e.g. by deepening cooperation in the fields of energy, transport and telecommunications, are very valuable. - Multiplicity in diversity is the great richness of this region - noted the Speaker.

The topic discussed during today's meeting was also the possibilities of the best use of the potential of the Polish-Croatian economic cooperation. The Speaker of the Sejm expressed his hope that Croatia's membership in the European Union will influence the increase of trade exchange and mutual investments between both countries.

Marek Kuchciński and Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović also touched upon the issue of closer contacts between the parliaments of Poland and Croatia, also in the "V4 plus" formula. The interlocutors also emphasized the importance of parliamentary cooperation at all levels - both of the Chairs of the Chambers and of committees and bilateral groups.

The Croatian President noted the importance of maintaining constant direct contact between politicians and the public. - Direct contact with people is something invaluable, especially for people in power - it keeps you connected to reality - she said.
