Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchcinski today discussed strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, energy and the upcoming summit of parliaments in Warsaw with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
During the meeting, the Speaker of the Sejm argued about the importance of bilateral cooperation and the necessity of bringing the Polish and Azerbaijani parliaments closer. He also emphasized the important role of the Eastern Partnership instrument.
Moreover, the politicians noted that Poland and Azerbaijan have similar positions on energy issues, oil and gas supply. They also discussed the possibility of signing a strategic partnership agreement to strengthen activities on the line between the Baltic, Red and Caspian Seas. - These ideas are worth engaging in. From our side there will be full support for such activities - said the Speaker.
In turn, Elmar Mammadyarov emphasized that all Polish presidents visited Azerbaijan and had positive memories of contacts with Lech Kaczynski, who, as the minister noted, was a strong defender of Polish interests.
