Robert Majka, Rafał Sura and Zbigniew Sieczkoś are the new judges of the State Tribunal elected by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, who come from the Podkarpackie region.
The composition of the State Court is determined by Article 199. Constitution. The State Court shall consist of a chairman, who shall be ex officio First President of the Supreme CourtThe State Tribunal is composed of one judge, two deputy chairpersons and sixteen members elected by the Sejm from among the deputies and senators for the duration of the term of the Sejm. The deputy chairmen of the Tribunal and at least half of the members of the Tribunal of State should have the qualifications required to hold the office of a judge.
Robert Majka and Rafał Sura come from Przemyśl and Zbigniew Sieczkoś from Rzeszów. These people from the Podkarpacie region are on the 16-member Tribunal of State.
Zbigniew Sieczkoś is known for his work as the Governor of Rzeszow and Podkarpacie Governor. From 2002 to 2006, he was a member of the Podkarpackie Regional Assembly, from 2006 to 2008 he was the director of the Rzeszow branch of the National Health Fund. From 1981, he was affiliated with the Solidarity Trade Union, and later with the Law and Justice Party. It was this party that recommended him to the Tribunal, as well as Rafał Sura.
Rafał Sura is a Doctor of Law, since 2003 he has been a lecturer at the Catholic University of Lublin. Previously, he was among others director of the Office of the Mayor of Przemyśl and the president's plenipotentiary for cooperation with the services, inspections and guards.
Robert Majka was associated with the anti-communist opposition since 1981. He was an activist of Solidarność Walcząca and Freedom Party, and later a city councillor. Since 1995 he has been employed in the Przemyśl City Hall, most recently as an administrative employee of the Przemyśl City Guard. He was nominated to the State Tribunal by Kornel Morawiecki and supported by the Kukiz'15 social movement.
