On Sunday, November 10, the Public Celebration of the National Independence Day was held in Warsaw under the patronage of Jaroslaw Kaczynski, in which Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchcinski took part.
On Sunday evening a memorial march took place from the Warsaw Archcathedral to the Presidential Palace as part of the celebrations of the 95th anniversary of Poland's regaining independence organized by the Law and Justice party.
Earlier, there was a concert by the Choir of the Warsaw Archcathedral and a Mass in the Archcathedral of St. John the Baptist, which could also be watched on a big screen on Castle Square.
The Mass was attended by reconstruction groups from various eras. Before the Mass a wreath was laid on the grave of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski.
The Mass was celebrated by Father Bogdan Bartołd, pastor of St. John's Archcathedral. He described the victims of the Smolensk catastrophe as "citizens faithful to the heritage of 11 November". He also mentioned the need for "truth in public life, instead of the game of appearances and social engineering tricks." "The truth cannot be drowned out or covered up". - he stressed.
At the head of the march, its participants carried a large red and white flag and a banner: "Independence is not given once and for all".
