On Wednesday (10.11.2021) in the Columned Hall a solemn assembly was held on the occasion of officers' promotion in the Marshal's Guard. During the ceremony, the Speaker of the Sejm presented the officers with promotion certificates for the first officer rank, while the Head of the Chancellery of the Sejm presented the officers with appointment certificates for the next rank in the corps of privates.
The Marshal's Guard functions as a uniformed service. It is an organizational unit of the Chancellery of the Sejm and reports to the Marshal of the Sejm. Among its tasks is to carry out pyrotechnical and radiological reconnaissance of persons, vehicles, grounds and facilities of the Sejm and the Senate.
Act of January 26, 2018 on March Guard The officers were empowered to carry out pyrotechnical and radiological reconnaissance of persons, vehicles, grounds and facilities of the Sejm and the Senate as well as to undertake actions aimed at neutralizing threats and detecting wiretapping devices. Moreover, they are covered by the pension rights of uniformed services, set forth in the provisions of the Act of 18 February 1994 on the pension benefits for officers of the Police, the Internal Security Agency, the Foreign Intelligence Agency, the Military Counterintelligence Service, the Military Intelligence Service, the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Border Guard, the State Protection Service, the State Fire Department and the Penitentiary Service and their families.
