The parliamentary team for mountain rescue (with Chairman Marek Kuchcinski) on October 6 met with representatives of the Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service, who presented the tasks carried out by the GOPR, but also the needs and problems faced by the rescuers. The result of cooperation with the team is, among other things:
The inclusion by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration of seniors of mountain rescue in the system of pension allowances as an appreciation of their many years of service in the mountains, significant financial support of our Rescue Service, which was used to purchase medical equipment, means of transport, modernization of communications and personal equipment of rescuers,- raising funds for the construction of the Rescue Station in Krościenko nad Dunajcem, which is currently being finalized,- launching a program of thermal modernization of GOPR Rescue Stations.
Thanks to funds allocated by the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, next year the Ambulance Service will carry out thermal upgrades to more than a dozen emergency stations, as requested by Regional Groups.
The Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service is an organization consisting of 7 regional groups that has been operating in mountain areas from Bieszczady to Karkonosze for 70 years.
