On 11 May, the National Museum of the Przemysl Land hosted a summary of the Podkarpacie League of Children and Youth in Alpine Skiing under the honorary patronage and with the participation of the Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński. Among the invited guests were also: Vice Marshal of Podkarpackie Voivodeship Piotr Pilch, President of the Polish Ski Association Apoloniusz Tajner and a group of local government officials headed by the Mayor of Przemysl Wojciech Bakun.
Before the ceremony of awarding prizes and distinctions Marek Kuchciński congratulated all young sportsmen, also encouraging them to practise ski jumping. - We all remember that for many years representatives from Podkarpacie have been winning these competitions all over Poland, including Podhaleans. This is indeed a feat. I wish you to follow this path.
- I am happy to be the patron of another edition of Podkarpacie League for Children and Youth, which popularizes alpine and cross-country skiing among young people. Today, we had the opportunity to reward and applaud the best competitors of the League - concluded the Marshal.
PLDiM was reactivated in 2017. It takes as its goal the dissemination and promotion of alpine and cross-country skiing among young people and the integration of the skiing community in the region. This past winter season saw its third edition. The competition for young skiers was held in four cycles: in Przemyśl, Ustrzyki Dolne, Strzyżów and Puławy. In the last edition over 550 competitors were registered.
