The Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński met with the President of Georgia Giorgij Margwelashvili. The interlocutors agreed on the need to deepen institutional cooperation between Georgia and the European Union. The President emphasized the inspirational role of our country: - Poland has a vision of how Central and Eastern Europe should develop and the power to realize this vision - he said. Margwelashvili called Poland the advocate of Georgian interests in Europe.
The Speaker of the Sejm, referring to the abolition of borders by Russia, said that Poland invariably takes the position that the principle of inviolability of borders must be binding. - We cannot pass over Russian aggression - he argued. He emphasized that one of the recipes for a "return to normality" is a deeper cooperation between countries with a similar situation in relation to their neighbor.
According to the Speaker, it is also necessary to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation, establish a Polish-Georgian parliamentary assembly, and think about meetings of politicians and scholars to share experiences.
