National Section of the Employees of Sanitary and Epidemiological Stations NSZZ "Solidarność" and the National Secretariat of Health Protection NSZZ "Solidarność" in the appeal directed to the Deputy Speaker of the Sejm M. Kuchciński drew attention to the many years of underfunding of the National Sanitary Inspectorate.
This includes the conduct of inspection and laboratory activities and the appropriation of funds for employee salaries. Since November 2007, salaries for this inspection have been frozen. This leads, among other things, to sanitary inspectors saving the budget of their stations by transferring funds from salaries to non-salary expenses.
Therefore, Marek Kuchciński MP supported the workers' demands and asked the Minister of Health in an interpellation to answer the questions:
What actions does the Ministry intend to take so that the activities of the State Sanitary Inspection and sanitary-epidemiological stations are not credited to the employees of the units?
Does the Government intend to honour the commitments contained in the resolution of the Tripartite Team on Health Care of 12 May 2005 on the increase in the salaries of employees of the State Sanitary Inspectorate by 10% for the next 4 years?
What actions will be taken to secure real funds for surveillance, prevention and laboratory activities carried out by sanitary and epidemiological stations, especially in the context of such necessary actions as preventing the risk of food contamination?
According to the regulations, the minister is obliged to answer the MP's questions in the interpellation within 21 days.
