The Law and Justice government invests in road infrastructure! Despite systematic improvement, the condition of Poland's local roads still constitutes one of the basic barriers limiting the increase in road traffic safety, as well as a factor reducing economic and investment activity and the competitiveness of regions and individual economic centers.
By the Act of 23 October 2018 on the Government Road Development Fund (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 1430, as amended), a new mechanism was established to support local government units implementing investments on local government roads. The Government Road Development Fund (RFRD) is a comprehensive instrument to support the implementation of tasks on roads managed by local government units. Its purpose is to accelerate the creation of modern and safe road infrastructure at the local level, which is an important element in the proper functioning and development of the economy and contributes to improving the standard of living of the citizens.
The establishment of the Fund is also aimed at improving road safety and the technical parameters of the local road network, as well as improving and increasing the attractiveness and accessibility of investment areas. At the same time, the development of local road infrastructure is a complementary measure to initiatives taken at the national level with regard to the construction of a system of freeways and expressways, contributing to the creation of a coherent and integrated transport system.
Under the RFRD, the Podkarpackie Voivodeship will receive PLN 174 793 246, 94 in 2021 . Below are the investments the funds will be used for.
