Podkarpackie New Year Meeting of the Law and Justice party in Rzeszów

On Sunday (January 29) in Rzeszow, after a Mass for the intention of the Fatherland and the victims of the Smolensk catastrophe (celebrated at the local church of Our Lady of Kaletyn), a New Year's Meeting of Law and Justice was held in the huge cafeteria of the Rzeszow University of Technology." A couple of hundred members and supporters of the party, who came from all over Podkarpacie, had the opportunity not only to make wafer wishes, but also to draw a lot of optimism and faith in the reality of the party's victory in the next local and parliamentary elections.

MP Andrzej Szlachta from Rzeszow, began welcoming participants from the chairman of the Regional Council of the Law and Justice Party in Podkarpacie, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm, Marek Kuchcinski, whom he described as the main initiator and co-organizer of the wafers meeting. He also welcomed the guest of honor, Joachim Brudzinski, chairman of the Law and Justice Executive Committee, who came from the north of the country. Beside them, behind the table of honor sat Subcarpathian politicians: member of the European Parliament from Mielec - Tomasz Poręba, MP Jozefina Hryniewicz, MP Stanislaw Ożóg, as well as clergy - director of Caritas of the Rzeszow Diocese - Rev. Stanislaw Slowik and local parish priest, Rev. Henryk Brzeźniecki. Among the hundreds of people, MP Szlachta noticed in the hall and welcomed, among others, the chairman of the Rzeszow region of the Solidarity Trade Union, Wojciech Buczak, as well as the legendary first chairman of Solidarity in the region, Antoni Kopaczewski.

Speaker Kuchcinski In his speech, he recalled the most important events of the past year and thanked party members for their cooperation so far. At the same time, he encouraged particularly hard organic work in the year 2012 that has begun. This positivist work is expected to lead to the reorganization of the ranks and good preparation for the local and European Parliament elections to be held in two years' time, followed by the national parliamentary elections. The recently escalating mass protests by a number of social groups (uniformed services, teachers, health care workers, youth) against the government's policies, make, the speaker said. Perhaps as early as this year we will demand very strongly together with others that the time for change has come, that there needs to be an acceleration, that there needs to be a true testimony of who is on the side of Poland and Poles - and who is on the side of those who think in terms of a narrow interest group, the establishment, and do not represent the interests of the whole nation. The party in power supports only the richest and strongest regions, and in international politics prefers to cooperate with Berlin and Moscow, rather than to care and strive for the sovereignty of its own people.

Meanwhile, as Speaker Kuchcinski stressed, for Law and Justice, Poland's independence and sovereignty is a great value. It must be sought and fought for at all levels. Solidarity with pensioners, retirees and students is very important for Law and Justice. The Law and Justice Party is also on the side of the "soldiers of the ex-communists," who fought after the war against the communist authorities. The day of March 1 will be a holiday for the soldiers of the exterminated, which was passed by the Sejm, incidentally not without resistance from those in power. One of the fundamental issues for Law and Justice is also to support local governments, which are unfortunately ignored and underfunded by the government, despite the fact that they handle more than 90 percent of issues affecting citizens.

Finally, the Deputy Speaker of the Sejm wished Law and Justice members a successful reorganization and a concerted march to electoral victory.

MP Joachim Brudzinski He recalled that Law and Justice parliamentarians, acting across political divides, proposed a number of substantive amendments to the 2012 state budget. Many of the amendments concerned budget support for much-needed investments for Podkarpackie. Unfortunately, all of these amendments were rejected by the coalition majority, and Podkarpackie parliamentarians from Civic Platform and the Polish People's Party also voted against them. Speak about this in your localities so that those who supported PO and PSL in the elections are aware that they voted for people who raised their hand against funds that could come here and support the development of Subcarpathia - Joachim Brudzinski said, addressing the participants of the wafer meeting.

Referring to recent protests by Polish youth, MP Brudzinski argued: These young people are taking to the streets today because this government, which has called itself "civic," is in fact anti-citizen and wants to hijack the only area of freedom of speech in our country - the Internet.

He recalled the extremely brutal struggle of the power camp against "Trwam" Television, which: Jest the only TV station objectively presenting all that has been happening in Poland in recent years. He also reminded: This power encourages (regarding the foreign minister's statements - ed.) Germany to dominate Europe, and places the investigation of the Smolensk crash, in which Poland's most important citizens and NATO generals died, in the hands of Moscow. Along with the mainstream media, it has supported Russian lies for almost two years, and tarnishes the honor of Polish generals and Polish pilots. I believe that the next elections will be won because people's eyes are being opened; because young people have been deceived by Civic Platform and have woken up in a different country than the one they may have voted for. (...) The Law and Justice Party will win, and this victory will come out first of all from here, from Podkarpacie.

After the speeches of politicians, greetings from the bishop, shepherd of the diocese, were given by the dear friends from Law and Justice and Solidarity, Rev. Stanislav Slowik. The bishop expresses gratitude for the fight for life and expresses hope that it will eventually be victorious - said the clergyman, director of Caritas of the Rzeszow Diocese.

The meeting was highlighted by the performance of the "Echo of Sakrosong" choir and orchestra. There was no shortage of tasty borscht dumplings, appetizers and hot drinks and pastries for anyone.
