On December 14, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, the first plenary meeting of the Social Dialogue Council, established by Polish President Andrzej Duda, took place. The Council is to ensure dialogue between the government, social and employers' sides. The Council's chairman, Solidarity head Piotr Duda, invited the Speakers of the Sejm and Senate and the Prime Minister to the first meeting.
The head of government spoke of the past eight years, during which Poles were not heard as they deserved, and civic projects were rejected without any conversation and discussion. Both she and President Duda expressed hope that the crisis in Polish society's dialogue would be resolved. - I firmly believe that the forum where you will meet and talk will take precisely this form of dialogue, and here the best programs and projects for Polish entrepreneurs, Polish workers and the Polish economy will be forged. I believe that together - the social side, the employers' side and the government side - we will work out a lot of good solutions for Polish women and men," Beata Szydło said. She stressed that the solutions concern labor issues, development programs or wage increases.
The government is represented on the Council by six ministers: labor, finance, treasury, education, health and infrastructure and development, and two deputy ministers. The trade union centers OPZZ, NSZZ "Solidarność" and the Trade Union Forum each have eight representatives. Employers' organizations: Konfederacja Lewiatan, Pracodawcy RP, Business Centre Club and the Polish Crafts Association - six each. The president and the presidents of the National Bank of Poland and the Central Statistical Office also have their representative on the Council.
