Members of Parliamentary Group for Mountain Rescue Service, among others deputies Marek Kuchciński, Anna Paluch, Kazimierz Matuszny, ministers of Interior and Administration Maciej Wąsik, Funds and Regional Policy Waldemar Buda and Climate and Environment Małgorzata Golińska met with the representatives of Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service in order to discuss the current problems of GOPR, including cooperation with national parks or development of infrastructure. There was also a presentation "Current state, needs and perspectives of development of Mountain Voluntary Rescue Service", in connection with the forthcoming 70th anniversary of GOPR.
Mountain Voluntary Rescue Service is an organization made up of 7 regional groups that has been carrying
assistance in mountain areas from the Bieszczady to the Sudetes.
GOPR Goals:
- providing help to people whose health or life is endangered, providing assistance to victims of natural disasters, catastrophes, accidents and other random events
- raising GOPR members' qualifications
- prevention and promotion of safe forms of activity, tourism and recreation, in particular in the mountains
- environmental protection
