Members of the Parliamentary Team for Mountain Rescue, e.g. MPs Marek Kuchciński, Anna Paluch, Kazimierz Matuszny, ministers of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration Maciej Wąsik, ministers of funds and regional policy Waldemar Buda and ministers of climate and environment Małgorzata Golińska met with representatives of the Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service to raise current problems of GOPR, including regarding cooperation with national parks or infrastructural development. The presentation "Current status, needs and prospects for the development of the Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service" was also presented in connection with the upcoming 70th anniversary of GOPR.
Mountain Voluntary Rescue Service is an organization made up of 7 regional groups that has been carrying
assistance in mountain areas from the Bieszczady to the Sudetes.
GOPR Goals:
- providing help to people whose health or life is endangered, providing assistance to victims of natural disasters, catastrophes, accidents and other random events
- raising GOPR members' qualifications
- prevention and promotion of safe forms of activity, tourism and recreation, in particular in the mountains
- environmental protection
