Statement by Marek Kuchcinski, Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland

For the past three years, defamatory content has been appearing in the media (NIE weekly articles, tweets and others). They insinuate that I am to engage in highly reprehensible, indecent or even criminal behavior. In light of the well-known fact that I am soon to be appointed to the post of Head of the Prime Minister's Office, I am forced to address these defamatory contents.

I categorically state that insinuations suggesting any connection of mine
with indecent behavior or crime are untrue. Against individuals or entities (such as newspaper editors) who repeated these insults, I initiated appropriate civil and criminal legal proceedings. Unfortunately, these proceedings remain unfinished to this day.

In May 2019, a group of PO deputies held a high-profile meeting of a private nature with former CBA officer Wojciech J., who stated that on a recording shown to him by someone he "recognized" my person in an indecent situation
and criminal. PO deputies and the opposition media deceitfully called this meeting a "testimony before the investigative committee," while the person giving this "testimony" did not do so under the penalty of criminal liability for giving false testimony.

In this case, back in April 2019, I filed notices to the prosecutor's office on the possibility of committing the crimes of defamation (Article 212 of the Penal Code), insulting a public official (Article 226 of the Penal Code), false accusation (Article 234 of the Penal Code) involving the filing of false information by former CBA officer Wojciech J.. I also filed a private indictment against this former officer and a civil suit. These proceedings, unfortunately, have still not gained momentum, the reason being, among other things, the numerous sick leaves claimed by Wojciech J.

Once again, I categorically state that the revelations scrolling in various media on this subject, linking any indecency to my person, are lies
and defamation harming me and my family. I call on all those who spread them to stop these practices. This is because they constitute crimes described in the Criminal Code in Articles 212, 226 and 234.

I'm not going to make any more statements in connection with these ridiculous
and "sussed out" information. At the same time, I would like to remind you that I will continue to defend my good name in court should any lying reports about me continue to be spread.
