The President, Speaker of the Sejm, Speaker of the Senate, Prime Minister, parliamentarians and ministers accompanied Jolanta Szczypiñska, Member of the Polish Parliament, on her last journey. The funeral ceremony started with the Holy Mass at St. Mary's Church in Slupsk, during which our colleague and friend was bid farewell by, among others, President Andrzej Duda and President Jaroslaw Kaczynski.
- Dear Jola (...) Mrs Szczypińska, she was simply Jola. She was a nurse with a vocation to help other people completely. She served her neighbour, God and Poland, she was like that till the end. She was never afraid, both in Solidarity and in the face of illness. I thank Jola for her beautiful life and for what she did for Poland. President Andrzej Duda said.
- It is with great sadness that I bid farewell to Jolanta Szczypiñska, a long-standing MP and vice-chairman of the PiS club. For many of us, also for me, she was a friend, Jola. She refused to let her life be determined by her place of origin and social status. She chose the path of fighting for justice and goodness. For Poland to be free. Jola was an exceptional person who could do a lot for her goodness. When she was seriously ill she would take a train and change trains at night to visit her dying friend who asked her for a last meeting. That's how Jola was... When she had nothing to live on, she picked mushrooms to survive. She was a joyful person, full of smile, ready to help others and play together, to be happy with others. Also in the last weeks of her life, in her last conversation, she talked about social issues, party issues - said Jaroslaw Kaczynski, chairman of the Law and Justice party.
President Andrzej Duda posthumously awarded the late Jolanta Szczypiñska the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta for her outstanding achievements in public and state activity, for her contribution to democratic changes in Poland.
Jolanta Szczypiñska was a member of the Sejm of the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th parliamentary terms, vice-chairman of the Law and Justice PC. She passed away on December 8, 2018. She was 61 years old. She was laid to rest in a family grave at the municipal cemetery in Slupsk.
