The ceremony was attended by: Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński, Parliamentarians of Law and Justice and local government officials.

On the initiative of the Social Committee for the Construction of the Monument of Lech Kaczynski and Other Victims of Smolensk Catastrophe in Debica, a memorial with the symbolic Smolensk soil underneath was erected.

The celebrations started with the Holy Mass celebrated in the Saint Jadwiga Church, with the participation of the Bishop of Tarnow, Andrzej Jozef. It was concelebrated by all parish priests of Debica and many pastors and priests from neighboring parishes and communities.

Then the participants of the ceremony walked to Mikolajkow Square, where the Municipal Brass Band played the national anthem. On the square, in a visible place, there was a banner with a meaningful quotation from Zbigniew Herbert's poetry: 10.04.2010 DĘBICA REMEMBERS: NATION THAT LOSES MEMORY - LOSES CONSCIENCE.
