Speaker of the Sejm: I strongly condemn the attacks in Sri Lanka. This is an attack on a day when life, not death, should triumph

I strongly condemn the attacks in Sri Lanka - stated the Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński after the terrorist attacks that took place in this country.

The number of victims is constantly being verified by the authorities and has already exceeded 200 people. While Poles were sitting down to Easter breakfast, celebrating The resurrection of Christ, hundreds of families in Sri Lanka were in despair after of a terrible loss. Terrorists attacked people attending mass people. Bombs also exploded in hotels, and Christians were targeted.

- We cannot remain indifferent to these events. This is an attack on innocent people whose only fault was their religion. It is an attack on a day when life should triumph, not death. I extend my condolences to all the families of the victims, among whom were not only Sri Lankans but also citizens of other countries," adds Marshal Kuchciński. This is not the first or only attack targeting Christians. In March, the Catholic News Agency sounded the alarm about the situation in Nigeria. Since February, more than 120 Christians have died at the hands of Muslim militants in that country. Churches in Africa and Asia are burning. The scale of violence and persecution is alarming.
