On Friday, the Speaker of the Sejm talked with the EU Commissioner for Transport, Violeta Bulc, about the expansion of the North-South connection network, Via Carpatia and broad infrastructural development. - We are aware that without infrastructure there will be no economic development - said the Speaker of the Sejm.

Violeta Bulc emphasized that what is necessary for economic development for today and in the future is a combination of transport, energy and digitalization. - Digitalization and modernization lead to an evolutionary process, and thanks to this it is possible to organize an integrated level of services, integrated logistics and ticketing systems - she enumerated. Violeta Bulc stressed that it is worth actively participating in this and co-shaping the solutions that will be adopted in the future. The Transport Commissioner underlined that the projects prepared by Poland for EU funding are of good quality and very well prepared.

The Speaker of the Sejm said that at present it is important to rebuild connections between countries that have been separated by the Iron Curtain. Marek Kuchciński also pointed out that we should not close ourselves only within the borders of the European Union, and we should be open to countries that are in Europe but not in the European Union. - By strengthening infrastructural connections it will be easier for us to create together a European Family - he stressed. The Speaker of the Sejm also paid special attention to the need to strengthen the activities of the National Parliaments in relation to the European Commission and the European Parliament.

Violeta Bulc came to Poland on an official visit at the invitation of the Minister of Infrastructure and Construction, Andrzej Adamczyk. The meeting with the Speaker of the Sejm was also attended by MP Izabela Kloc, Chairwoman of the Sejm's Commission for European Union Affairs.
