The Speaker of the Sejm opened the 57th Music Festival in Łańcut

- One can get the impression that music, as an art presented here, has ceased to be a form of chamber music, exclusively in terms of high culture, addressed to a narrow group of recipients, but has become a certain form of life and influencing the life of the entire society, the entire nation. This is openness that gives opportunities and possibilities to all citizens of the Republic of Poland, to the listeners," said Marek Kuchciński during the 57th Łańcut Music Festival. According to the Marshal, the festival is an excellent example of the permeation of multiculturalism and European community in a very good sense.

During the opening ceremony, the Marshal noted that if we looked back to the 1960s and the first Łańcut festivals, no one would have dreamed that the festival would achieve such fame and accomplishments. At the same time, it remains a festival in which music is an art that influences the life of the entire society. - It is the merit of the creators and organizers," he said. - I congratulate and thank the Director of the Philharmonic Marta Wierzbieniec for her achievements, especially the latest ones, such as the symphony of light, and the Marshal of the voivodship Wladyslaw Ortyl for his good and wise care of the festival and the philharmonic. I congratulate Wit Wójtowicz for maintaining and running the museum and castle, this symbolic place in the history of Poland, and Polish culture in particular," said the Marshal.

The festival at Łańcut Castle, one of the most beautiful magnate residences in Europe, has been organized for 60 years. The musical traditions of this place date back to the 18th century. In 1961 it was revived thanks to the State Philharmonic in Rzeszów. The festival attracts outstanding singers, instrumentalists, and stars of the stage, as well as concerts by renowned orchestras and chamber ensembles, and also scientific sessions and music workshops, while its reputation is enhanced by great names such as Rafał Blechacz and José Carreras.
