While receiving the title, the Marshal assured that while creating and developing the new parliamentary policy, aimed at the development of Poland in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, within the framework of numerous international initiatives related to Visegrad countries and the Carpathian macro-region, he also strives to strengthen the role of Przemyśl. He argued that the Carpathian macro-region deserves a strategy in the EU similar to the Alpine or Baltic strategy. He also announced the establishment of a state institution of international importance called Europe of the Carpathians in Przemysl, a city with great potential, which will deal with supporting the development of this part of Europe. He also recalled that the Europe of the Carpathians conferences organized by him accelerated the construction of the Via Carpatia, an expressway that will be the main transport route for the Union between the North and South of Europe, to influence further investments, including new border crossings such as the road and railroad one in Malhovice.

- Przemyśl is a city with over a thousand years of history, which is evidenced by numerous historical monuments. Its very location determined that from the very beginning of our history Przemyśl played a role of an important center - said the Marshal. - In this regard, we are working together with the authorities of Przemyśl and the Podkarpackie Province, and the latest example of our cooperation is the plan to include the National Museum of the Przemysl Region in the network of museums co-run by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the Marshal of the Province," said Marek Kuchciński.

During the ceremony the Marshal was accompanied by Krystyna Wróblewska, MP, Anna Schmidt-Rodziewicz, MP Andrzej Matusiewicz, MP Andrzej Szlachta, Voivode of Podkarpacie Ewa Leniart, Vice Voivode Lucyna Podhalicz, Voivodeship Marshal Władysław Ortyl, President of Przemyśl Robert Choma.

The laudation in honor of the laureate was given by the former senator, Dr. Jan Musiał.
