The conference "Blasphemed Soldiers. The Way of Free Poles".

On February 25th a conference was held at the Polish Parliament entitled "Wyklęci Soldiers. The way of free Poles" was dedicated to the heroes of the independence underground who were active in the Second Conspiracy.

Sejm Speaker Marek Kuchciński, who opened the conference, said:

- The generation of Wyklêdych Soldiers is a generation of extremely cruel, even torturous times. The generation of Wyklêdych Soldiers is a generation of extremely cruel, even torturous times. It is a generation that acted in times that we could call, for their sake, times of honor in times of lies and betrayal. You are the milestones on which our nation strengthened its national consciousness and built its independence. The Communists wanted to erase you from history and memory, or at least to make you an object of contempt propaganda. But the achievements, the achievements and the ideas of the generation of the Conclave Soldiers survived, and their graves became not lonely boulders, but the generation, the foundation for the people of Solidarity fighting for independence.

Among the guests were forty heroes of the Underground. Major General Jan Podhorski, a.k.a. Zygzak, spoke about the great luck of those who survived, about the fact that the most difficult fight was against the home aggressor - the UB, but despite this he never wanted to go with the flow.

- It seemed they could murder us and throw us into an anonymous pit. It could not be done, the seed germinated - a new cadre of young Poles is growing - said Henryk Atemborski, pseud.

The conference was organized by the Parliamentary Groups: "Tradition and Memory of Soldiers Wyklętych" and "History Lovers", as well as the National Social Committee for Commemoration of "Soldiers Wyklętych" and is part of the celebrations of the National Day of Remembrance. This special day was established by the Sejm by way of a law on February 3rd, 2011. As we read in the document: establishing March 1 as the National Day of Remembrance is a tribute to the heroes of the anticommunist underground who, in defense of the independent existence of the Polish State, fighting for the right to self-determination and the realization of the democratic aspirations of Polish society, with guns in their hands, as well as in other ways, resisted Soviet aggression and the imposed by force communist regime.

The conference is also accompanied by the exhibition "Damn Dwarfs of Reaction". - Polish independence underground 1944-1956". The exhibition was prepared by the Public Education Department of the IPN in Lublin. "Dirty dwarfs of reaction" is a contemptuous term for people fighting in the underground propaganda spread by the communist authorities in the People's Republic of Poland.

The conference was held under the patronage of the President of Poland Andrzej Duda.
