Prime Minister Beata Szydło has appointed Ewa Leniart as governor of Podkarpackie.

Ewa Leniart, director of the Rzeszow Branch of the Institute of National Remembrance. Between 2005 and 2007, when Ewa Draus (Law and Justice) was governor, Ewa Leniart was director of the Governor's Office. Leniart is 39 years old, has a PhD in law, teaches at the University of Rzeszow, and is also a provincial councillor. She was born in Dylągówka, Podkarpackie province. In 1995-2000 she studied at the Faculty of Law of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Branch in Rzeszow, where she received her Master of Laws degree.

In 2002-2005, she was the head of the Legal and Organizational Department of the Institute of National Remembrance Branch in Rzeszow. From December 2005 to January 2007, she was the coordinator and then director of the Governor's Office at the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Office. Since January 2006 she has been an assistant in the Department of the History of State and Law at the University of Rzeszow, where she teaches the history of Polish law and general history of law. Her research focuses on the history of the Polish state and law after 1944 in the field of functioning of the post-war judiciary and state administration bodies, criminal and administrative law. In February 2014, she received a doctoral degree in legal sciences on the basis of the thesis "Attempt to remove state authorities and attempt to change the state system through violence in the jurisprudence of the Military District Court in Rzeszów in the years 1946-1955″.
