Digital Carpathian Europe

Within the framework of international cooperation in the Carpathian Europe area, a project for the digital development of the region was presented from September 7 to 9, 2021. These are measures to increase the visibility and attractiveness of the Carpathian areas. The Digital Carpathian Europe project proposed by the Polish administration composed of initiatives dedicated to local communities. Activities will target both individual residents and industries operating in the region.

- Through modern technologies we develop logical thinking, creativity, but also build historical awareness," says Marek Kuchcinski, head of the Foreign Affairs Committee and patron of the Carpathian Europe conference.

In 2021, local governments running some 12,000 elementary schools nationwide received funding to purchase modern tools to support talent discovery and the development of future competencies - such as collaboration, interdisciplinarity, creativity and problem solving.

Under the Future Laboratories, the government is funding 3D printers, microcontrollers, robots, recording equipment and other high-tech equipment [the program implements one of the demands of the Polish Deal, from the COVID-19 Countermeasure Fund].

The Government will allocate a total of more than PLN 1 billion to support schools - first for schools run by local governments, and then also for non-public schools.

Support for more than 3 million students!

Support will be allocated according to the size of schools - their governing bodies can receive up to:

a. PLN 30,000 - in the case of schools up to 100 students (there are 5168 of them and 292,457 students attend them)

b. 60,000 zlotys - in the case of schools from 101 to 200 students (there are 3492 of them and 495,017 students attend them)

c. 70,000 zlotys - for schools with 201 to 234 students (there are 659 of them and 142,467 students)

d. 300 zlotys per student - in the case of schools from 235 students (there are 4,678 of them and 2,131,451 students attend them).

Record spending on education in 2020-2021

Educational subsidy - 53.4 billion zlotys (2022) or 32% more (2023 - projected at over 61 billion zlotys)
