SENIOR PLUS
Until December 21, you can submit bids in the competition for the best projects co-financed by the Government Program for Social Activity of the Elderly for 2014-2020. In the new edition of the program PLN 40 million is up for grabs.
Grants
Non-governmental organizations, social cooperatives and associations of local government units may apply for funding.
- The amount of the grant is maximum PLN 200 thousand.
- Entities that apply for funding must have at least 10 percent of their own contribution.
The 2019 draft budget allocates a total of PLN 40 million for the program.
These funds will be used to finance projects that will improve the quality and standard of life of seniors. The program was created for people who are ending their professional activity.
Social activity offer
Government funding is provided for the creation of a range of social activities that enable the development of the potential of people over 60 years of age. The priority is education of the elderly, social activity promoting intra- and inter-generational integration, as well as social participation of the elderly and social services for seniors.
- The beneficiaries of the program are not only senior citizens, who in the autumn of their lives can take advantage of an offer tailored to their needs or health condition, but also younger generations who can draw on the life experience of older Poles," says Elżbieta Rafalska, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy.
In 2016-2018, nearly PLN 114 million was allocated for the implementation of the program. From these funds, more than 1.1 thousand projects were subsidized, benefiting nearly 450 thousand people.
Bids must be submitted electronically only, using the bid generator available at https://asos2019.mpips.gov.pl.
75 PLUS CARE
Changes
To make the program gain more momentum, the Ministry of Family decided that next year "Care 75+" will be implemented in an expanded formula.
- Starting in 2019, the program will be aimed not only at single people aged 75 and over (as it was so far), but also at seniors who have families," says Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Elżbieta Rafalska.
Next year, the Program will also be available to those communes that provide care services through social cooperatives established by local government units. Thanks to this, the Program will cover a larger number of communes.
The Ministry of the Family in May 2018 conducted a study, which shows that 376 municipalities do not fulfill their own task under the Social Welfare Act and do not organize (or provide) care services, including specialized ones at the place of residence. An important group of beneficiaries of such services are elderly people who are already 75 years old.
The "Care 75+" program is a response to the need to increase the availability of such services. Communes that join the program can count on financial support - up to 50 percent of the expected cost of the task.
