May 17-18 Summit of Speakers of Parliaments of Central and Eastern Europe

Sejm Speaker Marek Kuchcinski: More than 20 representatives of countries from Central, Eastern, Southern, Northeastern Europe between the Caucasus, the Baltic Sea and the Mediterranean Sea will arrive in Warsaw for the summit.

The summit of the presidents of the parliaments of these countries is dictated by the need to exchange information and discuss the future of this part of Europe, and to discuss what common issues we have that could unite us, make it easier to cooperate, and not cause us to be stuck in many cases in a situation of sBefore 80.
We are connected not only by location. The Polish-Ukrainian border is crossed by 20 million people every year. Several million Ukrainians come to Poland and leave money and mostly come back... So these are billions of zlotys, which create tens of thousands of jobs in Poland. Imagine that there are facilitations, more border crossings, including between other countries. What a great boom then, which continues economic development. Decisions in Europe are lagging behind. Economic development, trade, people-to-people exchanges are ahead of politicians, and we have to face it.
We can clearly see that in comparison with Western Europe, this part of Europe infrastructurally, due to the fact that here was the area of the Comecon, the Soviet Union, is very much behind in the development of road, rail, air communications, etc. It is the duty of parliaments to promote development. If there are communication links, there is good cooperation.
