Inauguration of the 58th Music Festival in Łańcut

During the inauguration of the 58th Łańcut Music Festival, the Speaker of the Sejm, Marek Kuchciński, said that musical traditions had been connected with the castle - a symbol of our historical heritage and also a treasure of Polish architecture - almost since its creation. - I am glad that in this unique atmosphere, which allows listeners to be transported into a unique world of artistic beauty, the attention of music lovers is directed towards events during which outstanding personalities present masterpieces of world music literature. The high level and wonderful setting make each of the concerts an individual feast," he stressed.

Marek Kuchciński pointed out that the festival, by playing a huge role in dissemination of musical culture, co-creates Polish and European heritage. It also becomes a beautiful showcase of Podkarpacie.

The festival at Łańcut Castle, one of the most beautiful magnate residences in Europe, has been organized for 60 years. The musical traditions of this place date back to the 18th century. In 1961 it was revived thanks to the State Philharmonic in Rzeszów. The festival attracts outstanding singers, instrumentalists, and stars of the stage, as well as concerts by renowned orchestras and chamber ensembles, scientific sessions and music workshops, and its reputation is enhanced by the presence of such distinguished names as Piotr Beczała, Rafał Blechacz, and José Carreras.

The festival opened with a performance by the group THE KING`S SINGERS.
