On Tuesday (14.05), the Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński and the President of the Swiss Confederation Ueli Maurer discussed the Polish-Swiss cooperation. The meeting was attended by Robert Kołakowski, deputy chairman of the Polish-Swiss Parliamentary Group, and Agnieszka Kaczmarska, head of the Sejm Chancellery. The visit of the Swiss politician to Warsaw is related to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Welcoming the Swiss President, the Speaker of the Sejm expressed his hope for intensification of Polish-Swiss relations. President Maurer, in turn, emphasized that both countries have very good relations. Marek Kuchciński emphasized that Poland is interested in deepening the cooperation at the level of parliaments. In this context, he mentioned, among other things, the activities of the Polish-Swiss Parliamentary Group.
Politicians discussed Brexit and the Swiss experience in conducting referendums. During the meeting, the Speaker of the Sejm also emphasized that Poland is committed to finding a good solution for the survival of the Polish Museum in Rapperswil.
