On January 22, 2010 the Head of the National Security Bureau Aleksander Szczygło, Law and Justice deputy Marek Kuchciński and the Ministers in the Presidential Chancellery Mariusz Handzlik and Małgorzata Bochenek received the Order "For Merit" - high state distinctions of Ukraine. Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko awarded them for significant personal contribution to the development of Polish-Ukrainian relations and strengthening Ukraine's authority in the world. The awards were presented by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Olexander Motsyk.
