Voit of Łańcut Commune
Dear Mr. Mayor,
Thank you very much for the invitation to the ceremony of the 100th anniversary of the heroic death of Colonel Leopold Lis-Kula. Not being able to participate in this event, I would like to express my thanks to its organizers and participants. I am convinced that the ceremony in Kosin, the birthplace of the heroic legionnaire of World War I and defender of Poland reborn in 1918, will have a special dimension, while providing a valuable testimony of patriotism and respect for our national heroes.
It is hard to believe that a man whose accomplishments could be included in several biographies, lived only twenty-two years. The whole youthful life of Leopold Lis-Kula was filled with efforts for the good of the Homeland, for the independence of Poland. His great fortitude, admirable maturity and steadfastness inspire admiration even today. One of the best and bravest soldiers in the history of Poland. He became a symbol of the fight for a free Homeland.
That is why I thank you for the tribute paid to this extraordinary hero from the Podkarpacie region, who will forever remain a sign of our community and an inalienable part of our historical heritage.
Once again, my sincere greetings and best regards to you.
