The Polish delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of Poland and Ukraine paid a working visit to the Ukrainian Carpathians from 6-9 July. During the meeting, they discussed issues related to both the Ukrainian and Polish Carpathians, namely:
- the activities of the Carpathian Convention,
- construction of hydroelectric power plants on mountain rivers,
- forest management principles.
Also presented were the projects of the "Polish-Ukrainian Academic Youth Meeting Center," which consist of: reconstruction of the former Józef Piłsudski observatory built in 1938 on the Pop Ivan mountain in Czarnohora, construction of the Polish-Ukrainian Academic Youth Meeting Center in Mikuliczyn near Jaremcza, and the reconstruction of the Stanisław Vincenz house in Bystrzeć, which would serve Polish and Ukrainian students for ethnographic work. The projects are being prepared by the University of Warsaw and the Carpathian University of Ivano-Frankivsk.
Work on the projects was started by both universities under the patronage of the late Polish President Lech Kaczyński.

Conference participants also visited the remains of the observatory on Mount Pop Ivan (2028 m).
