Władysław Ortyl new marshal of Subcarpathian Province

Wpolityce.pl: PiS rules again in Podkarpacie! Senator Władysław Ortyl (former Vice-Marshal of the Voivodeship and Secretary of State at the Ministry of Regional Development during the times of the late Grażyna Gęsicka), a candidate of the Law and Justice party club and also supported by the Righteous Republic club, has become the new Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. He defeated Mariusz Kawa, the head of the PSL councillors' club and a candidate of the current PO-PSL-SLD coalition governing the Podkarpacie region, by a ratio of 17:15.

The Law and Justice and the Right of the Republic clubs have a total of 15 (12+3) councillors in the 33-member assembly. Ortyl's victory was possible thanks to the support of two coalition councillors. It soon turned out that they were: provincial board member Lucjan Kuźniar (PSL) and Jan Burek, who in the previous term was a member of the provincial board from PiS, before the elections in 2010 he joined PO, but he did not keep his seat in the board. The price for their support of Ortyl were the positions of vice marshals for both councillors. Entire article: here.
