Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński accompanied the U.S. Ambassador during his two-day visit to Podkarpacie. On the first day, Paul Jones visited Przemyśl and the castle in Krasiczyn, and on the second day he toured the Bieszczady Division of Border Patrol. During the visit to the Polish-Ukrainian border crossing in Medyka, the infrastructure solutions operating there were presented, as well as equipment for checking the authenticity of documents and clearance of travelers in the context of verification of visa documents (VIS visa biometrics). The delegation also had the opportunity to learn about the use of observation towers and optoelectronics in the protection of the state border and take part in a patrol flight in a Border Guard helicopter along the Polish-Ukrainian border.
The next stage of the visit was the Border Guard post in Huwniki, where equipment used in the direct protection of the "green" state border was presented. The visitors were particularly interested in the observation vehicle (PJN), handheld thermal imaging sophie camera and digital binoculars with image recording.
The visit ended with a visit to the sanctuary in Kalwaria Paclawska near Przemysl.
