On 11 March (Tuesday) in the headquarters of the Polish Episcopal Conference in Warsaw a ceremony was held to present the Award of Msgr. Roman Andrzejewski, His Excellency Archbishop Józef Michalik, Metropolitan of Przemysl, President of the Polish Bishops' Conference.
The Bishop Roman Andrzejewski Award is granted by the "Solidarity Village" Foundation. It was established to honor people for special achievements in work for rural and small-town environments, their cultural and economic development. The active attitude of the laureates is to be an example of positive work, possible in every conditions, in accordance with the guidelines of the social teaching of the Church.
Awarded for the tenth time, the Bishop Roman Andrzejewski Award is also a symbolic thanks to farmers for the leadership of Archbishop Jozef Michalik to the Polish Episcopate in difficult years.
The award was presented by the Metropolitan of Warsaw, Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz.
The event was attended by the Deputy Speaker of the Polish Parliament Marek Kuchcinski, who congratulated His Excellency.
