On 29 September, the Vice Marshal of the Sejm, Marek Kuchciński, visited the Konin region to pay homage to the 96 victims of the Smolensk catastrophe. Together with him, MP Witold Czarnecki, Błażej Spychalski, a councillor of the Wielkopolska Regional Assembly, and Zofia Itman, a councillor of the Konin City Council, laid flowers at the plaque by the Saint Maximilian Kolbe Church.
