The centenary of the rebirth of the Polish State is the most important event around which our collective memory focuses. Marek Kuchciński, Speaker of the Sejm, who opened the exhibition "On the Road to Independence", emphasized that the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of independence are an opportunity to deepen the knowledge of the roads to our independence, strengthen the sense of the value of an independent state and remind that independence must be constantly guarded. The Marshal said that it is extremely important to shape patriotic attitudes, strengthen the sense of civic community of Poles, deepen the understanding of the idea of Polish statehood, and the mission to disseminate knowledge about history, especially about its heroes.
The exhibition in the main hall of the Sejm was realized within the framework of the Multiannual Program "Independence" for 2017-2021. It illustrates the events related to Polish independence. It shows the roads that led to it. Among the guests were Minister of Environment Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Minister of Culture and National Heritage Jarosław Sellin and Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Piotr Naimski.
