Polish Army Day with the participation of highest state authorities

The Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński took part in the central celebration of the Polish Army Day. It was also attended, among others, by President Andrzej Duda and his wife, Speaker of the Senate Stanisław Karczewski, Prime Minister Beata Szydło as well as ministers and parliamentarians.

For us Poles, for 97 years, August 15th has been the day of the great Polish victory, the greatness of the Republic, the greatness of the Polish weapon and the greatness of us as a nation, of which we are all extremely proud - President Andrzej Duda said to the participants. Everyone then stood together, regardless of differences in political views and perspective on the strategic situation and their own ambitions - the head of state added.

Polish authorities are trying their best to meet the needs that the Polish army has today - Andrzej Duda, the head of the armed forces, assured the soldiers. I am convinced that all politicians in Poland - both those who hold power today and those who are in opposition - understand that the most important thing is the common good - the Republic of Poland, of which the Polish army is a part - added the president.

The ceremony in front of the Belvedere was preceded by a mass for the intention of the Homeland with the participation of the Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński. The liturgy was also attended by the President and his wife, the Speaker of the Senate and the Minister of National Defense.

Wreath-laying in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and in front of the monument to Marshal Jozef Pilsudski on the square in his name was also part of the central celebrations.

Polish Army Day is celebrated on August 15 to commemorate the victorious Battle of Warsaw in the war of 1920. It was introduced by an Act of the Sejm of July 30, 1992.
