August 1st will be the 67th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, which, according to many historians, by stopping the Soviet troops' offensive on the right bank of the Vistula for several months, made it impossible for them to occupy Western Europe faster. Thus, the Allies also managed to reach Berlin. In today's (July 27) issue Gazeta Polska on pages 20 and 21 you can read an interesting article Sir, I report to the Uprising! in which Marian Milewski, uncle of Marek Kuchciński, is mentioned among other commanders of the Polish Army.
