A mass was celebrated at Wawel Cathedral to mark the 99th anniversary of regaining independence. Members of the Law and Justice party, including Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchcinski, Speaker of the Senate Stanisław Karczewski, Prime Minister Beata Szydło, prayed for the Homeland.
The delegation laid flowers at the sarcophagus of the presidential couple, at the crypt of Jozef Pilsudski under the monument of John Paul II, at the Katyn Cross and at the Jozef Pilsudski Monument.
The celebrations were crowned with a patriotic concert, during which the President of the Law and Justice party Jaroslaw Kaczynski said, among other things, that by regaining independence, Poland managed to rebuild its national consciousness. Poland is developing, and democracy is strengthening. He also wished that the upcoming year will be a year of work and a road to victory which belongs to the Polish nation.
